With the blessings of Sree Amma, team AHEAD conducted training workshop for teachers of Narayani Vidyalaya and Narayani Vidyashrama in Vellore temple, by the name ‘Prerana’ with the theme “Journey from Teacher to Guru” on 27th December 2022.
There were about 80 participants who attended the workshop. Parimala Murthy, Dr. Janardhan and Bhavana Kashyap were the resource persons to attend the workshop on behalf of AHEAD.
Teachers enthusiastically participated throughout the session which was conducted both in English and Tamil and teachers opened up their thought process before the team.
The session was mostly based on activity and discussions. Participants openly shared their views and points on how they felt about the teaching profession.
Personality development based on Universal Human Values was the most important topic in the whole session. Teachers were trained throughout the session to teach children on values of life.
Yoga was also taught to the teachers in session. This was done in order to feel teachers refreshed and energetic while going in front of their students.
Games and activities were included in the session which gave value messages and which highlighted various roles of teachers in a students life.
The session made teachers understand that they are the first and best role model for students.
We made them to participate in activities which helped teachers in developing their communication skill for effective teaching.
The workshop also made teachers understand their role in students life and the importance of teaching profession.
The session also had group discussions and Q & A part in which teachers actively participated.
Dr. Janardhan gave teachers an insight on what is teaching about and how teaching is not only about books and syllabus, but beyond all these systems.
Teachers shared their daily life challenge in communicating with today’s generation who are more technology savvy. The whole workshop went well and the response towards the session were also excellent.
The program concluded with a presentation on theme Journey From Teacher To Guru Discussing and throwing light on the four aspects that a guru should have i.e., Gyana, Samvanaha, Sheela and Bhava.
